[Motorola] Turn down Quantar Morse ID dev?

Have you gone thru the station alignment procedure?

I have had Quantars that you could barley hear the ID and ones that rattled the keys on the dash.

If you have not the alignment, do it and most likely it will help.

$20K repeater and they are not fully aligned from the factory.

Subject: [Motorola] Turn down Quantar Morse ID dev?
Date: Tue, 27 Dec 2011 14:06:43 +0000

Does anyone have suggestions for turning down the deviation, as well as adjusting the (annoying) 1000-Hz tone of the Morse ID to 500-600 Hz in Quantar bases and repeaters? The tone and loud modulation are irritating,

I'm hoping there are software or firmware remedies, rather than my idea of finding the 1000-Hz tone oscillator and butchering the circuit board.

Thanks,

Jay
