Thanks Eric,
You're right. Micor or my Quantars would have to have some type of
current-limit in the battery charging, so, no worries about how many
batteries I set up in series-parallel for 28-V. (It was a Monday when I
asked my question - what can I say). The site is remote, fire road and
served by a generator with a 36-Hrs life. I don't rely on generators
and think I'll buy those extra battery racks.
Thanks,
Jay

Jay,
It doesn't matter. The higher the battery capacity, the longer it takes
to
fully charge at the fixed charge rate. I have heard about a site that
had a
3,000 Ah battery plant for a Micor- enough to run the repeater for a
week!

Does anyone know the maximum battery capacity that a Quantar with
24-volt revert is capable of charging?
Thanks,
Jay
