If you were thinking of trying the RLN6379A bluetooth adapter for
XTS-family portables, don't. They are not public-safety (or even
ham/FRS/CB) quality. I tried out two of these adapters. In all of the
UHF XTS handhelds I tried them on, there was a loud buzz in the audio of
the transmitted signal. The buzz did not occur in the VHF XTS radios
that I tried. In all cases, transmitted audio was very low- about 1.5
KHz deviation for a 5 KHz channel. Low-level white noise was heard in
the earpiece at normal and higher volume settings (with no radio
traffic). Occasional static pops or clicks were heard in the earpiece.
