[Motorola] Hex editing?

Hello to all.  I am trying to hex edit Maratrac software to go to the 6 meter ham band.  I don't know how to hex edit. I have the hex editor open and can only find one line of code 42C7A.  I cant find 42C27, 53EF6, or 56816  they all should be HEX F401 and DEC 500 as from the factory, acording to what I read in a conversion article.  The guy says those codes need to be changed to HEX 1C02 and DEC 540 to enable the radio in the 6 meter band.  Please help.  Thanks, Jeff
