Hello Group,
Interested in finding out history on this base mike.
The pedestal is sort of oval, with push button centered in front. The mike is suspended about 6' above the base. The mike enclosure is square, with rectangular metal grill. On the bottom edge of the grill," Motorola"
is written, written in black, with a gold background. A "Shure" logo is on the grill. Under the base, is what I believe to be a tone generator (Can visulize xtal). The mike is made by "Shure", and is a "Controlled Reluctance" type. Mod.# 97159. There is a Motorola number stamped under the base....."TU-436". Has the typical four (4) pin mike plug.
I believe the mike to be from the early 1950's, or perhaps even earlier! The "Tone Burst" may have been added later? Befor I put it on eBay, I would be interested in its worth.
