I also forgot to tell you that somewhere in the software you have to tell 
the radio what head your using ,if its different from the one you have 
plugged in now.   Say your radios all were settup to work with the clamshell 
basic head, and now you have the full function 99 channel head connected, 
well , it wont work.  I dont know what error message will come up.  You may 
thenhave to try the other head you have.   I dont have a manual for these 
Maratracs, I just went with info from the inter net.  Hey, if anyone has an 
extra Maratrac LOW BAND manual to sell reasonable, please contact me.  Jeff,

I'm going thru all my stuff and I have a couple maratracs, I need to see if 
I have an extra clam shell head and cable for you

On another note, I have been trying to real several of those radios and they 
all come up with a serial busy error (error #2) and I can't read the radios
I have the radios hooked up to the big control head that has the "88" 
display, the one without the squelch knob,, should I try hooking them up a 
different way? Or maybe is my programming cable bad?
Most of the ones I have are UHF/VHF and maybe 1 or 2 6 Meter's

Could the problem be they have been programmed to operate with the clam 
shell control head? Some radios will display on the control head that its on 
CH1, and some won't show anything but sound a beep when I press buttons on 
the head

Is there anywhere on the internet that I can find the schematic for the 
Maratrac 8 channel head and cable?  This would be the very basic head and 
cable setup.  Could a Miterk head and cable be modified to work?  I have put 
several on 6 meters and I'm short one cable.   I only need 4 channels in my
