[Motorola] Astro Spectra vs regular Spectra and remote mount cabling question

I currently have installed a standard Spectra that I am using the motorcycle style (rubber encased connectors) remote mount cable and head which I want to change the RF deck and head to a Astro Spectra without changing out the remote mount cable.

Can this be done?

Can the Astro Spectra and the standard Spectra use the same remote mount cables in this case or do I have to use the remote mount cables provided with the Astro Spectra?
