[Motorola] Motorola Transceivers As Linear Amplifiers

Last winter I was discussing using the power amplifier boards from some
Motorola transceivers as linear amplifiers, with W6ARE; he recently bacame a
silent key and I need more information.  Has anybody here ever changed the
bias and drive on solid state Moto power amp boards and successfully used
one as an SSB linear?  I have done that with tube transmitter strips and
even changed parallel 6146s to push-pull AB, but I do not have the necessary
background to do that with solid state units. Any information on how to go
from Class C to linear with such power amp boards will be greatly
appreciated!
