Nope. Just lets you fill the memory completely. You may not get 40 if you have advanced signalling enabled.

I have a 32 channel, if its being made to a 40 channel do I loose anything ?

GM300 was offered in a 32-channel variety direct from Motorola. You can hack
a 16 or 32 channel up to 40 by making minor modifications to the .mdf file
of the RSS.
