[Motorola] MT-2000 iii Call-Alert?

This is a non-trunked version. It looks like RSS will allow receive
Call-Alert but not transmit Call-Alert in this model. I think that Call
Alert can be MDC-1200 format or DTMF... I was hoping to use MDC-1200
or anything else in these radios for Call-Alert, e.g, paging one radio
from a list in another alike radio.

Another fun thing is MT-2000 RSS is DOS.

Thanks

"Call Alert" as in "two tone sequential" signalling (ie "paging") or
trunking's digital equivalent?

I believe the conventional menu of all MT2000's offer standard "old
style"
paging, such as what's still used for fire alerting, etc. This is
typically
1 sec + 3 sec audible tones (sometimes duration shortened), plus longer
duration single-tones usually used for all-call.

The key question is if the radio's being used in conventional/analog
modes, or trunking. If conventional/analog, then radio & RSS probably
support "Call Alert". If trunking, then chances are the signalling is a
digital word on the control channel, and you probably need to have a
trunking-capable radio to enable that feature (and it may need to be
enabled in the central controller).

I didn't look up your specific model, so can't help you that far.

Good luck.

dt

Some, not all, MT-2000 models are capable of trunking.

Yes, it's capable of full Smartnet/Smartzone features including CA/PC,
Emergency, Status/Message, etc. Read one up and go through the RSS...
