In the back pages of various issues of CQ and QST from about 1948-49, Motorola
sold a transmitter for hams which was a reconditioned 30 MHz Deluxe Line FMT-
30D (as far as I can tell) and the ad states "AM or FM at the flick of a
switch." They were also selling P-69-13 Police Cruiser receivers (medium wave
AM, crystal control) and a Gonset 10 Meter converter to feed the Police
Cruiser. Said to "Contact Harry Harrison, W9LLX," but I don't think he's
still taking orders.

I have never seen ads or photos of the smaller ones which were just AM, unless
we are talking about the T-69-20A which had a separate power supply in one
cabinet and the transmitter in another, the cabinets were identical with two
fixed carrying handles on top and a red "Motorola" logo button on the center
top. But the T-69-20A had no companion receiver of the same style, you had to
use a Police Cruiser receiver with it along with a cumbersome antenna relay
box (for VHF anyway.)
