[Motorola] Luggie Talkie

Richard,

Since you have the service manual for that radio, just find the Motorola
part numbers for the receive and transmit crystals. International Crystal
or Bomar should be able to make your crystals, even though it's for a very
old radio, when you can provide the original crystal part numbers. You may
find useful numbers stamped on the existing crystals. Even if the crystal
house can't use the original part numbers, you can always send the crystals
to them for testing.

Keep in mind that the receive crystals might work better using high-side LO
injection, and if you go that way, you'll need to provide the crystal maker
with special instructions.

I'm not familiar with that model radio, so I cannot comment on what mods may
be in order to optimize its operation on 2m.

Hello group,

I recently acquired a old working Radiophone model H23BAC-1101AM. It works
great (has the a/c supply) on 151.16 (sounds like an ambulance service here
in Portland, OR).

I would love to stick in some crystals for the local 146.24/84 repeater here
and wonder if anyone on the list knows of a crystal supplier who would have
the info on this type of radio who could supply them. I have a manual, so
tweaking shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Bonus question....has anyone ever used a GLB 400 synthesizer on one?

Just a fun project...thanks for any and all replies.

73,

Richard kn7sfz
