Subject: [Motorola] New APX radios introduced.
FYI-
Motorola will introduce a new APX handheld and mobile radio, probably in
mid-2009. Styling resembles XTS5000 and XTL5000/05, with improved,
color displays.
They are not a replacement to the XTL/XTS 5000 family, but are a higher
tier. The first releases will have two bands, VHF and 800 MHz, and
Motorola says additional bands will follow. Maybe Motorola will catch
up with the handheld and mobile radios by Harris and Racal that already
cover 30-500 MHz. Might be a great interoperability solution for
deep-pockets agencies.
