[Motorola] Spectra fail code 08/10 option serial bus failure

    Don, error 08/10 is generated to the control head when the siren/Pa option
is turned on in the code plug and the radio can't find the siren/Pa box during
boot up. This is an error that can be ignored as it has no effect on the
operation of the radio. If you want to clear the error, simply turn off the
siren function in radio wide options.
    As far as the intermittent TX and RX issues, Motorola did not made a radio
with that model number (your other email) in that split. The synthesizer is
probably failing to lock at times. You can modify the VCO so it will lock and
you can tweek the front end for better sensitivity, or you can simply order the
parts from national parts. Good Luck
