I'm sure he means the late 1950's Lookout radio which was in a 10" Twin-V
type mobile case and used the old Dispatcher series hybrid chassis inside.
I have a set of photos somewhere, as a friend just acquired one, and I'll
have to see if they show the nameplate. I don't have interior shots as he
can't find a key and apparently the standard 2135 isn't it. I believe it's
N-something for the model number on that one. Those were built through
about 1964.
The next generation Lookout radio after that one was very similar to a Mocom
30 in appearance, with a cream colored panel and a blue-gray case, and used
HT-200 boards inside. I have one of those. They were made in VHF and UHF
models. The UHF is an N1138 and the VHF an N-1136 or something like that.
There was a first generation lookout radio which dates from about 1949. It
used the modules from the FHTRU- style pack sets and was powered by a pile
of dry batteries although I was told that there was some sort of
thermocouple power generator also used, which burned kerosene or something
similar. Never saw one though.
