[Motorola] Radius P-10

Richard,

The Motorola Radius P10 was a limited-capability radio that used DIP
switches to set one of several pre-programmed VHF "Dot" channels. Such
radios were used on the itinerant frequencies by surveyors and various
contractors for point-to-point communication over short ranges. It was made
in three power ranges and in low VHF, high VHF, and UHF bands. Some models
had PL tone capability. I don't think the P10 can be made to work in the 2m
band without major surgery.

However, if you'll provide the model number from the inside label, I'll
check my Motorola data file for any useful information. The model number
will be something like "H23KNB3106BN" although some letters and digits may
differ.

If you wish to pursue this project, the Service Manual 6881068C60 is still
in print for $29.50, but the Operating Manual 6881054C30 has been cancelled.

The Repeater-Builder site is a huge repository of material on Motorola and
other brands of radio equipment. Go here:

Hi to the list,

Does anyone have any experience with changing the Radius P-10 handheld to
ham freqs? I picked one up at Goodwill for $1.25 and it is on 151.625 (it
has a good battery and works well...I took the battery cover off, but don't
see how in the world the rest of the unit disassembles for service).

Also, is there a source with downloadable PDF docs on old Motorola rigs?

Tnx es 73,

Richard kn7sfz in Orygun
