Actually, it can be read... the codeplug has some interesting properties too.

Ideally, if you are the radio shop that initially programmed the radio, you have a saved codeplug. You simply shove that back in.

Since you probably don't have that, you find one similar and make some adjustments. Check out www.batlabs.com, you might be able to figure it out from there.
