[Motorola] MT1000 Convertacom Mini UHF problem

Dennis,

Several posters have reported that mini-UHF connectors from Radio Shack and
other consumer-oriented suppliers are not manufactured to the standard of
commercial suppliers like Amphenol and RF Industries, and fail to make a
solid connection. The usual complaint is that the cheap connectors bottom
out before the connection is tight. Caveat Emptor!

Subject: [Motorola] MT1000 Convertacom Mini UHF problem

Good evening everyone,

I seem to be having an issue with the chassis mount mini UHF
connector on the convertacom I use with my UHF MT1000. With any of
the cables/adapters I try I can flex the cable and hear the signal
come and go...something is breaking contact somewhere.

Any words of wisdom for me when I open up this thing and
look at that connector?

I'd love to change out the entire thing...how practical is that
idea?

         Thank you,

              Dennis
