[Motorola] External Antenna Adaptor MT-1000?

To be able to connect an external antenna to the MT-1000 you need the
external RF adapter that goes on the accessory connector. You can't use any
type of adapter on the antenna jack because there is no ground reference,
the antenna jack is just the center conductor, the frame works against it as
the ground plane. Your other option is to get a convertacom to put it in,
that will give you a mobile mic and speaker as well as an external antenna
connection.

The last time I checked the rf adapter was still available from Motorola,
but it's probably while supplies last since the entire Genesis series line
has been discontinued.

NTN5368A RF Adapter, looks like a speaker mic connector with a small mono
headphone jack on top.

NKN6408A RF Cable Kit, a length of RG-174 with a mono plug on one end and a
SO-239 on the other. You could just buy the RF Adapter and save some money
by building the RF Cable on your own with whatever you want for a connecter,
BNC, SMA, N, whatever.

Scott

Subject: [Motorola] External Antenna Adaptor MT-1000?

I'd like to be able to attach an outside (either in the car or the one
at home) antenna to my UHF MT-1000. I noticed an adaptor on the
e-place for an HT-1000 but..it seems that is not compatable with my
MT-1000. Is that correct?

If so, is there such a beast? I know there is a test cable that pulls
RF out that goes on the acccessory pad. Is there an adaptor like the
one I found for the HT for my MT?

Does anyone have what I need? <grin>

      Let me know...Thanks!

            Dennis
