[Motorola] SABER I and III

I have a UHF SABER with the full keypad and display. It worked fine
until a friend tried to add channels and now it won't take any
programming. The RSS says that it is a 1E unit, meaning it does not
have the display/keypad(?). Since this is a Dayton Hamfest "find",
I wonder if there was some way to hack the 1E into thinking it was
a Saber III? I now have a real nice paperweight...
