Sure. 0105956V67 is a valid part number (although NLA and not showing up on
MOL) for a DES-OFB/DES-XL UCM for the XTS3000. If memory serves, this is
going to be a newer rev UCM (R03.53-R03.56?) which requires host R07 in the
XTS3K to operate.
I don't know why, but the part numbers for the crypto boards seem to change
quite frequently.
080/03 is probably a manufacture date (80th day of '03, maybe?)
I'd put money on CAM0305ZFV being a serial number. Crypto modules are
tracked fairly carefully. A unique serial might be required for FIPS
compliance. A unique serial is certainly required for CCIs (Controlled
Cryptographic Items - devices with cryptographic protocols protected by the
US gov't, such as Fascinator/Indictor, which are tracked individually by the
gov't).

Subject: [Motorola] Motorola Encryption Board Labels
Can anybody explain the significance of the numbers that typically
appear on the label of Motorola encryption boards?
Here is an example:
0105956V67 080/03 CAM0305ZFV
This is from an XTS-3000. None of the three are valid Motorola part
numbers, are they? But they appear on the barcode label as if they
were.
Thanks,
Alan
