[Motorola] Manual/Information wanted for N1254A Amplifier

Neal,

As you probably learned from Motorola Parts ID, the 6881102C63
Instruction Manual is out of print.

The N1254A amplifier does at VHF what the N1275A amp does at UHF.  The
primary purpose for both amps is to boost the output of a handheld radio
when it is inserted into a Vehicular Adaptor.  This arrangement seldom
worked as advertised, and you had to remove the dust cover from the
accessory connector every time you wanted to insert the radio.  The
public safety users lost interest in VAs when it became obvious that a
mobile radio often cost less than a fully-equipped VA.

I don't have a manual for it, but I do know that the N1254A will tune
down to the 2m Amateur band with no problems.  Just be careful to adjust
the harmonic filter for minimum spurs.

I haven't opened it yet but think it may be a filter of some sort.  From the looks of the amplifier board, it appears to be wideband and the frequency range may be limited by the output filter.
