[Motorola] Tunable or Military 150 Hz CTCSS units?

I think it was Ferritronics that made a continuously adjustable CTCSS board
for aftermarket installation. You should also be able to get Communication
Specialists to make you an ME-3 element for whatever frequency you want, for
one of their older and discontinued (ME-3) CTCSS decks. Either of these show
up on eBay occasionally. Or, I believe Communication Specialists will make
you a CTCSS deck for whatever frequency you want; all it takes is money !
Motorola made special PL reeds for the federal government on non-EIA
frequencies. These have "special" or SP below the frequency stamp. If there
are any people left operating "reed banks," they might have some on 150 Hz.
If you are trying to interface a system using PRC-77 and VRC-12 / VRC-47
type radios, you may find that the deviation of the military sets can be
significantly higher than 8 KHz. The Motorola or equivalent commercial
system may not be too happy receiving some signals from the military radios,
but it should work. I might also comment that radios such as the PRC-77 are
not exactly state of the art when it comes to frequency accuracy and
stability, but this wouldn't be fatal to the idea.
