Actually, I am not the one who is looking for
information! I owned the Motorola reconditioned
equpment for the south-central United States from 1970
until Motorola went out that end of the business in
1979. Still have a number of manuals on various
Motorola equipment from the FMTRU-41V onward.
We always added the appropriate Motrola shield kit to
both the transmitter and receiver whenever we were
converting a Micor base station into either an RA or
RT configured repeater. We also always reduced the
power output from the unit to prevent damage to the
transmitter when used in continuous service.
Basically, a repeater is operating under continuous
use whenever it is in use for any period of time.
Even though the carrier may be stopped for a short
period of time between some transmissions, the power
output transistors (and other components as well) do
not have enough time to actually "cool down" very
much. As such, I definitely recommend cutting the
power to about 50% of the rated ICAS (intermittend
commercial / amateur service).
