What I've done to accomodate Saber, Spectra, MT2000, XTS3000, Quantar and
EX500 was to use a Compaq Presario 1200.
On boot-up the machine goes to an old DOS program called "Main Menu"- from
that DOS menu, I can run the above DOS RSS programs. The menu also allows
me to go to Windows 98. (I haven't had the time yet to setup and learn the
Windows RSS for MT2000 and XTS3000). The Quantar RSS ties up the port and
you'll have to reboot after a Quantar session.
I've tried this in anoter Windows 98 machine and a lot of the stuff would
not talk.
Results will vary- Motorola said try different machines.
Thanks,
Jay

Howdy, list:

Before I go out and spend a small fortune on RSS, I'm wondering of my old
laptop will run it without hassles.

The laptop is an old IBM 755 CE
486 100 MHz
DOS 6.22
Windows 3.11

Is 100 MHz too fast?
Will it require something like MoSlo?

Is the 486 compatible, or do I need to find a 386 machine?

This will be for RSS on Spectra, MCX1000, Saber III, and MT2000

TIA,

Dick
