It has been my experience with MX-3xx radios that to convert from one range
to another requires the replacement of the PA modules in the transmitter
and the receiver front end as a minimum. Usually the filters have to be
changed also. With the correct test equipment and a lot of time, the
modules could possibly be converted. At $5.00 each for a complete radio at
the hamfests, it is hardly worth the effort to do a conversion. Motorola no
longer supports the MX-3xx and most users are dumping them onto the surplus
marker.

This looks like a synthesized radio part number. Do the radios have MX300S
in red on the top of the radio? If so, do the radios still have the memory
and processor installed. From the frequency range, this was a federal
radio. For them to legally dispose of the radio it has to have the channel
determining elements removed. On the synthesized radio this would be to
remove the memory from the top of the processor. In a lot of cases, the
tech also removed the processor.

I wish you luck! I might have some of the correct range modules if you find
that you really want to proceed.
