That radio is an MT1000, 2 watt, UHF unit.  I don't have an MT1000
manual, so I can't determine the number of channels- probably 16 or 99. 
Radios of this vintage often don't reveal the frequency range in the
model number, so you may have to open it up to get some part numbers or
use RSS RVN4017 to read the radio.
