[Motorola] mobile extenders

I am sending this on behalf of an aquaintance, so please send your
responses to him in a new message rather than replying direct:

I guess this would be a general question for all who use any type of
radio system, but I am looking for anybody with knowledge of using
their fire apparatus mobile radio as sort of a radio
repeater/extender. Any equipment info on this would be appreciated.
