[Motorola] P1225 programming problem

I have a P1225 that I was trying to get programed and the software
(HVN9054C) complains that I have no radio connected. Radio works fine other
than it is not recognized by the software. Is the problem maybe that the
radio has been programed with a newer version? I think Moto has HVN9054D out
now. The RIB and cable works fine, it programs several other older model
P1225's with no problem.  I thought maybe the program  would give a model
not supported error or something.
