Brandon,
You could be correct on the Moto sting thing, They did it 3 years ago on the
Motorola users group, on Yahoo and on e-bay and were successful in prosecuting
several individuals here in the States and out of the States by the way. I know
just a couple of weeks ago on the radio-programming group on Yahoo they had one
thread where people were asking for some particular guy to please send them the
software that they had traded for and interestingly the individual who these
guys sent their traded software to was in florida and apparently he had
received a lot of RSS in trade from several others on the group and after a week
all they parties who sent Motorola RSS software to this individual were becoming
irate and asking for their copies of Astro RSS/CPS in return. It still amazes
me at the number of individuals who use their ham call or their entire names in
their e-mail responses etc. Oh yeah the individual who these people sent
software to was supposed to be in the Ft. lauderdale Fla. area, AKA where
Motorolas Astro radio division is headquartered.
