Thanks Mike=2E Yes, the use of the Iridium phones in emergency service is
well known=2E Also, the sailboat and aircraft folks seem to be the most
prolific users for obvious reasons=2E These phones are not cheap, but thei=

fact some of the iridium phones were offered to local hams who work with
Red Cross
and RACES teams to coordinate rescue effforts around the state, mainly for=
sensitive comms that could not be carried on the ham channels or for areas=
