[Motorola] Potable Test Sets

If I remember correctly (they say the mind is the 2nd
thing to go and I can't remember the 1st!), the S1056
series is the basic test set. The differences between
the plain, A, and B, are minor, I do know that the
meter movement was physically slightly different in
some of the models although they were all 50 uA and
had the same internal resistance.

The S1057 series had additional "strips" that were
installed above the basic meter (the S1056 series just
has a blank plate). Those strips included a
modulation meter that used a signal generator to tune
the transmitted signal, and also a "peaking" generator
that was used to align the i.f. stages of receivers.

Now, I admit that it has been years since I have even
thought about this even though I have a test set out
in my main home shop.

I think that one manual covers the S1056 and S1057
models.

Can anyone out there tell me what the difference is
between the S1056A, S1056B and the S1057A test sets?.
