Hi John -

They're right. The number you have above is the high split for the
low-band Mitrek. It will tune to 6m without modification at all.
These were made in a 60w and 110w version. If your model
number is a "T51" then it is the 60w unit. A "T81" is the 110w.

> Where may I locate a schematice for the unit?

I bought a low-band manual on e-bay last year fro $12.00 plus
$3.95 Priority mail. It was a bargain. The do pop up there from
time to time. You can also inquire here for the manual. The
Motorola number is 68P1045E65-O. The "-O" is insignificant.

> What are the 12 pin sockets for on the Tx and Rx sub boards?

The 12 pin sockets are the test points for the portable test sets.
Do you have accessories for it; head, cable, mic & speaker?

Boy! Now you're talking! I bought a Twin-V already set up on
2-meters in 1974 for $15 at a swap meet in Anaheim. I used it
for quite some time until I found a "T-power" that had two xmit
and recv oscillators in it so, I could hit the "big time" and have
a 2-freq radio! I used it for about four years and reluctantly sold
it to another ham when I was out of work for an extended time.
Now, I wish I had just hung onto it... It was like new and all the
accessories were too.

I even had an 80D set up on 2-meters. It had one of the very
rare 110vac power supplies in it but, only 1-frequency. I used
it on the Crestline 146.94/34 repeater above San Bernardino.
It was interesting since it had the oval shaped head mounted
right on the front of the radio where the cable connected and
the speaker right next to it. Big, not very attractive, but very
reliable. Besides, it was school bus yellow with a big 'Civil
Defense' decal on the top of it. It was given to me by an old
ham who got tired of moving it around.... Another relic that I
still wish I had, just for "the old times..."

I haven't paid any attention to the other numbers in mine.
They usually indicate the number of channels or any other
updates that could have been made to them.

We're having a ham-swap here in Reno on Saturday the 11th
of May (next Saturday) and I will be taking a bunch of stuff
there to get rid of. Excess I will never use and don't want to
move to Oregon later this summer. I do have a few Mitrek
heads, speakers and mics. And, I might have a cable or two
if you needed any of these, I'd be happy to sell them to you.

Anyway, as far as getting a schematic, you just about have
to get the manual. I can list the pin-out's on the connector
if you would like and send them along by e-mail. Let me
know how I can help. I might also be able to copy the
schematic in sections at work and mail it to you as well...
