For Jack, WA2HWJ: Where did you work? Our shop was a COSS (Springfield, NJ)
and we depo repaired tons of the MK 12 phones. Contrary to what Geoff said,
we must have replaced several thousand (yep--thousand) of the output
transistors in early models. I found that odd, as the transistors operated
in the VHF hi-band range. Which head are you speaking of? The push button
one or the FACTS head? If you ever find one, I have a FACTS head book.

I think Geoff already "won" the weirdest SP. Cables coming out the side
heatsink? I have seen 12 channel "stretch" MOTRAC's but all they did was
swap the front connector with the mobile phone connector to get some extra
pins. The 12 channel accessories would work on the MK 12 making it a 12
channel duplex radio. And, yes, those duplexers were impossible to tune with
the equipment available in most shops in the 70's, but it is not that
difficult with access to a network analyzer.--Mike, WV2ZOW
