I still use a Motrac style repeater on my VHF repeater. It has been up
almost 20 years with only minor trouble. I have a Micor waiting to
replace it, but it still works.

I had a problem with garbage out of the exciter and a dried up
electrolytic
in the audio squelch circuit of the receiver. Other problems are just
very
minor. .

It uses an all tube exciter, driver, and 8560 output tube and I have
only
replaced the final one time after I got it working. Very solid and
reliable.

I have a spare that I got for a backup if anyone is interested. The
first one
never broke, the Micor is waiting.
