[Motorola] Talk About Cell Phone question

Some of the commercial equipment is built to withstand a lot of abuse. I
repair radios for the Illinois State Police. I once had an officer go
through a flooded viaduct. He had a 42 meg GE Mastr Pro, and a 155 meg
Mastr Pro in his squad. The water was up to his windows, and completely
flooded the trunk and floor area where the control heads were. Both radio
worked just fine after allowing to dry for a week.

I also had the District Captain drop his Motorola Pageboy pager in over six
feet of water while fishing. He some how retrieved it. He had a rather
embarrassed look on his face when I asked him what was wrong with the unit.

And getting away from water for a moment. I had a Lieutenant leave his
Motorola Pageboy pager on top of his car while driving to work. It fell off
at a busy intersection in town here. Someone found it, and brought it into
the post, (it had an ISP inventory tag on it) but not before it had been
flattened by at least one vehicle. The boards looked fine so I tested
them. The unit was still working properly. I put it in a new case and gave
it back to him.

Joe.
