[Motorola] MAXTRAC for use on Amateur UHF 440-450 MHz

I understand that there are two MAXTRAC UHF models; one covering 403-430 
MHz and another covering 449 - 470 MHz.

Which would be the most suitable for use on the amateur band from 440.000 
top 450.000 MHz?  Is there any conversion work required?  Are there any 
other programming issues that I should know about?
