Don,
About the best bet in terms of a Motorola radio is the GTX. It is rumored
that the GTX will do 33CM with only software mods. The Spectra and MaxTac
are/were made in 900MHz models as well, but they require modifying the VCO
and/or filters on the RX side. For further details, poke arouns

Subject: [Motorola] What Radio ?
Hello all since the Ham Band is 33 Centimeters (902-928 MHz):, Myself and a
fellow Ham who live less then 5 Miles apart spend a lot of time on Simplex
in the early hours of the morning , Playing around with computers etc , we
have a Ham you know the type they will track someone down and just butt in
to the conversation having no idea what you are talking about but they
think they have all the answers , Well the Question is what Radio Model
Will just program up within this Band for Using just one or two simplex
Freqs ? see a lot on E-Bay cheap Just want to make sure which will be easy
to do. And Yes I'm familiar of the suggested Band Plan and that it is also
shared with Cordless Phones and about everything else maybe it Would be
cheaper to Modify a Cordless phone and get some 7/8 Hard line .
Thanks Don KA9QJG
