[Morrow] Setting the modulation on Morrow Transmitters

I have several working Morrow transmitters but since they have a modulator adjustment on the rear panel and a microphone gain on the front panel. I have manuals on all but the manuals mention using a scope to set the modulation. That is not handy for me to do. I have gotten about 35 watts out of the little transmitters IN THE PAST, but due to health reasons  I don't remember the set up sequence of the two controls that properly get the modulation proper.
Can someone help me set the two audio controls properly and tell me the proper SEQUENCE of adjusting the two controls.
By the way my Morrow AC power supply is working great. My former problem was a relay that needed cleaning and adjusting. 73, John, K5PGW
