[Morrow] MB-565 transmitter question

Can someone who has one and has used ti recently contact me offline? I 
have some questions about how they operate on AM.. I've just finished 
restoring mine and am trying to determine if what I'm seeing is normal 
or not.

With the rear panel switch in the cw position, and with the rig properly 
tuned up, I have approximately 50 watts output on all the bands. This is 
with 2 mA of grid current .

When I switch the rear panel switch to phone position, I see almost 100 
watts key down, but when using the microphone with the bias properly set 
to 40 mA, I only see 5 watts output with no modulation. I'm wondering if 
this is normal.. I suspect not. I would expect somewhere in the 30-40 
watts out range with no modulation not 5. I also do not see any grid 
current indicated when using the microphone.. not sure if I should see 
any or not.
