Hi there. As you have heard from a club presentation and from others, New
England is hosting the event and we have 65 stations going up for the
competition. The event runs from July 8-14 with the competitors arriving and
the stations going up that Friday and the contest starts on Saturday at 8 am
through Sunday 8am.

 

I am the site manager of the local site at Sholan Farms and am reaching out
looking for volunteers to do various duties to make our site a success. We
are probably looking at 2 sites at Sholan and may be assisting Devens as
they are looking at around 12 sites. (Nothing is official on that). The jobs
are Tower and site setup, Day and night security. Driving duties to support
the competitors and others. (This may also be transporting them from the
hotel to and from the site) A grill master? Equipment take down on Sunday.
This is just a few I know of and there may me more or less.

 

Why ask now? Believe it or not it is less than 6 months away and there is
many logistics still being looked at. I am compiling a list to email to keep
you informed as to what is happening and so the organizers know how many
people they have to work with. This is the time where we as New Englanders
can shine as hosts for a WORLD-WIDE event. And let's not forget the focal
point of the ARRL Centennial Celebration.
