Subject: [MohawkARC] Meeting Next Wednesday & Field Day Update

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m.  Information about IRLP will be discussed and we will also be working on the club's plans for Field Day.

We now have a location to hold Field Day!!!  (Thanks to Bill Leger, N1UZ, for the use of his property in Hubbardston - only about 10 minutes from South Gardner)  This location is a good step towards getting our feet wet again with an outdoor Field Day without having to go out to the middle of nowhere.  There many tall trees and plenty of wide open space to have fun with antennas.  There is also a new shed that we can use in addition to putting up a couple canopy tents.

At this point we will probably not want to run more than a 2A class station for Field Day, meaning that we'll have two transmitters using generator power.  We will probably stick to SSB and RTTY unless anyone wants to operate another mode.  We want to put on a good Field Day especially for the new hams that will have just finished with Paul's Technician Class Course so keeping it simple is probably the best plan.  At the meeting we can discuss all the details and get input from everyone.

Doug,
