Mac , Thanks for the tip. I didnt think of that. Im not up on video schemes . I am contacting Nav TV. The owner is a ham and he uses his 7000 in a late model vehicle. But you may be right. That info is not available in my trucks owners manual. Regards , Randy N5WV

Remember that the video output of the IC-7000 is ONLY composite video.
I suspect that the video format for the automotive video screens is something more modern!

Sonny , Thanks for the reply. My Ford book states if one plans on using a I Phone with the trucks LCD and audio system a special cable must be ordered from Apple. It states that this cable has a RCA jack and a USB jack attached. With that Im out of luck because there is no USB input on my Icom IC 7000 for video out. Just one of the small phono plugs. I must find someone that has successfully installed a IC 7000 in a Ford Super Duty and utilized the trucks LCD for the radios display. Im thinking when I first bought the truck I connected the radios video output to the trucks video input jack and still did not get a picture even while it was in park. So maybe a special cable is needed where to get a video signal the RCA video input jack must be connected with the USB connection . All my LCD does is blink about once every two seconds when only the RCA video input is connected to the 7000. Regards , Randy N5WV

Hi Randy,
I'm curious as to the nature of that special cable. Is it truly just a
cable, or is it a packaged interface?

I had a Nav TV unit installed in my 2015 Ford F 350 Super Duty. I want to
use my Icom IC-7000 with my trucks large LCD. I connected the 7000 to the
RCA video input jack located in a compartment under the top of the trucks
dash. I used the same Radio Shack cable I used to connect the 7000's video
output to a portable LCD TV . But I do not get any video from the 7000. It
works connected to the portable TV but not the trucks LCD. My trucks user
manual only covers using the input jacks with a I Phone. It states a special
cable from Apple must be ordered that has both a RCA phono and a USB
connection attached. If somebody has used a NAV TV unit and a Icom IC-7000 with a
2014 , 2015 or 2016 Ford Super Duty's LCD please contact me. Randy N5WV
