I come from the old school for mobile HF antennas:

"If the tip of the whip isn't bent, then it ain't high enough".

Been using the Hustler full power coils/antennas for over forty years,
mounted on the car top carrier brackets of my 4Runner SUV. I use a matching
coil for good SWR. It tops out at about 14'. This Hustler install has out
performed many of the very expensive remote tunable antennas, typically
mounted as you most often see them, because of their size and wind drag.

I prefer performance on one band at a time, over tuning all over multiple
bands while driving. Instead of spending my time "fiddling with" band
changing and my money on expensive antennas, I enjoy working DX on the band
I'm on, with what I've got. I get nearly full phone band coverage on 40,
full phone band coverage on 20 meters and higher with less than 2:1.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least
capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the
members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are
rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a
diminishing number of producers...
