Ford designed the turbo for the 2003 6.0 diesel from a Mercedes Benz turbo where each blade moved independently . A few months after they came out they started clogging up and not working . They did not take into consideration that european diesel is cleaner than ours. So they made some changes right away and got the word out that if you had a early model to take it out on the interstate and open it up. Blow it out at 70mph now and then . Randy N5WV

I think the taxes on Diesel are higher AND the Diesel refined from US stocks is very much in demand in Europe due to the low sulphur requirements there.
