Sonny , I have already made a major copper foil and tape purchase. And they are proud of that stuff ! Fantastic about your dealer. Well , This is a 2000 Ford Excursion Em Comm vehicle I picked up from the Red Cross and not in warranty. But I will give my dealer a call. Cant hurt. I read in a magazine that those vehicle computers are very expensive to replace. You should stay with that dealer. Service like that is rare today. Thanks , Randy N5WV

Hi Randy,
Don't bother with copper foil until you try aluminum first. If aluminum
helps then that will be a clue that you're headed in the right direction
and at far less expense.
ARRL can be helpful, and I also found my Ford dealer to be VERY helpful
with my HF installation. They even went out of their way to replace the
engine computer under warranty to a known (to them) quieter version.

Best,

Group , Has anyone had much success defeating injector noise with Ford 6.0
and 7.3 ltr diesel engines ? I have bonded the exhaust system , doors and
hood of my Excursions plus added extra engine ground straps and power
directly from batteries and injector noise is still present. And have added mix
31 toroids on every power lead and coaxial cable . I have purchased copper
foil and copper tape for shielding injector wiring harnesses outside of the
engine and have not had the time to do it yet. I thought about snap
beading the injector leads but they are enclosed under the valve covers with
other parts in the way. And they are very tight with no slack at all. So if it
was worth pulling the valve covers and oil rails one could not wrap the
bead at all. For now , all I know to do next is start shielding external
wiring harnesses with copper foil and copper tape. Anyone have any other ideas ?
