Great description of what your running Dave, and way KooL on the North
Korean contact!
Wish I had the room under the hood for a spare battery, but there are
three rows of seats, so the space on the floor between the third and
second row works out just fine ... hi
I used Velcro strips on my dash to hold those small light control heads
that control the heavier modules that they are connected to further back
in the vehicle. If I am driving, they are on that side, if my wife
drives, there on the passenger side and I play even more ham radio than
when I drive.
Years ago while mobiling hf from Sault Ste Marie, Michigan south to S.E.
Michigan, I came across a strong cw signal while on I75. Used my hand
mic to key the Yaesu radio and said hello to a Novice. He was thrilled
to have worked a mobile .... :-)
Interesting the 'cantilevered' antenna mount David. Got a url on that
one or is it home brew?
