[Mobile-Portable] Winter Prep, and HF Mobile Freqs?

Thank you for the comments, Bill. I've had the Super Six & Meteor idea in
the back of my mind for a while but never had a vehicle in which I could
implement it. I'd like to add a VFO since I'm kind of light on crystals at
the moment however I'm not real likely to find a VFO adequate to the purpose
that's also appropriate to the period before I manage to grind enough quartz
to make me happy.

Ahhh, the lovely whine of a dynamotor winding up ... such a lovely sound.
12v dynamotors are a near unobtainium breed otherwise I'd be building a
power pack around whatever I could lay my hands on. Watching the commutator
arc can be a fun way to pass some time although I did that with about any
kind of rotating machinery that had open commutators I could see. Anyway,
it would be fun to design a rig around the idea of being dynamotor powered.

Pictures will start when I can figure out how to manage my walker and
everything else in back so I can handle the whole shebang at once. Or
something.

Best regards,

What a great read Michael, have enjoyed it very much. Seems like a 'back
to the future' in a retro way type of feel with this outline of your
passionate plans. Is there a dynomotor supply in here some where? Have
missed the blue glow of those rectifier hi hi

Would very much be interested in seeing pictures of how this works out
for you, and I bet others here do too.

Keep us informed on your progress and may we can have a qso one of these
days and hear more about it.
