[Mobile-Portable] FT-857D with an Alpine Screwdriver Antenna?

It sounds as though most are keeping it really simple and
are using the switch and the FT-857D SWR readings to tune.

I am guessing that is happening while parked or perhaps at
a red light or stuck in a traffic jam - so no 
driving-distraction
there.

Perhaps I will begin with that arrangement and move to a
more sophisticated tuning system if I discover a need.
