[Mobile-Portable] ICOM tuner question

I have been an SGC antenna coupler mobile user for many years and have no complaints with that equipment.  In the past I have been able to mount the tuner under trunk lid and with 9 to 13 inches of coax connect my mobile mount antenna.

Now I have a Vibe and am thinking about an ICOM Tuner that will be by the radio and coax from there to the antenna.  Since I don't have a trunk lid I am just letting my mind outside the box and wander.  

Any thoughts on the ICOM tuner configured like that?
